Pride Month
Love has always been LOVE!
Celebrating PRIDE in who we are and who we LOVE has always been and will continue to be part of Indigenous cultures. ATC will continue to be a place where diverse communities are welcome, and all individuals have space to thrive!
Sisters in Spirit Day
A sacred fire will be lit at 8:00am and supported by local Elders and firekeepers all day. Anyone—Indigenous, friend, ally, or supporter—who would like to come by and make an offering, say a prayer, or show support to the local families and communities impacted is welcome.
Community Gathering and Walk to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Everyone is invited to participate in the Community Gathering and Walk to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
As NDTR is on a Saturday this year, a decision was made in collaboration with Indigenous communities, ATC - Athabasca Tribal Council and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo to hold a community gathering and walk on Thursday, September 28, ensuring that education and awareness are as widespread as possible, creating opportunities for local schools and youth to be involved.
The gathering begins at 10 a.m. at Kiyām Community Park.
Join us in solidarity, wear orange, and honour Residential School Survivors, their families, and their communities.
